in just a few minutes, i'm going to raise up out of this coffee shop, and head over to another coffee shop down the block from my house. wouldn't you know that same coffee shop is 50 feet from where the next president of the USA will be debating the eventual loser in just a few hours.
i'm going to post up and check it all out.
now let me "Make It Plain" (shout out to Sirius Radio's Mark Thompson--i'll be on there in a few). Nashville...Tennessee for that matter, is NOT clearly McCain territory. sure, we have some hardcore, truly country folks around, but don't be fooled. the Obama nation is thick up in this city.
i'm getting ready to head over to my 'hood, park my car, and make the trek up to the spots where people are gathering and police are cracking down. listen for me on the air or online, and i'll hopefully share some insights.
there is a massive march being led right now by Barack supporters, and it should--hopefully--paint a different picture of what it's like to live in Tennessee. we do not marry our cousins and carry shotguns in pickup trucks with rebel flags and listen to country music all day. at least, not most of us.
Nashville's stepping on the national stage in a few hours in a big way. i hope that we can show that we're a real city, ready for progressive change.
